John
and I are the official Empty Nesters. Our three children have
married and moved on. In 2004 we had a new arrival, Maya Rebecca
our first grandbaby. The Cotons took an immediate liking to
her and she to them. What a wonderful connections these dogs
seem to have to the children.
Our
furry friends have always been a part of our family from our
Valentine day rescue dog "Ginger" and her adorable
puppies that have won the hearts of neighbors and family members
alike to Oreo the cat whom is no longer with us. Ginger
has become the older maiden to the Cotons and they respect
her position in the dog family tree.
In
our pursuit of the breed, we were fortunate to meet Sara France
St Pierre of Cotonnerie at Cherry Blossom. Shortly there after
we brought Cotonnerie Melodie home to Texas as our own.
So
here we are today planning the rest of our lives around our
precious Cotons! They live in our house and sleep in our bed
and play with our children and grandchildren. Our children
question if they ever received the love, attention and devotion
that our puppies do. They still do, of course, but now that
the children have married and moved into their own homes,
our Cotons do seem to fill the void that they left behind.
